Join us for the Intel® AIoT DevCamp in Cape Town, South Africa, where we will be hosting a 4-hour hands-on training session showcasing Intel’s entire AI and IoT portfolio, including both hardware and software products. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to build a deep learning solution using AI optimized Caffe and Tensorflow using the Intel® AI DevCloud and will have a chance to implement an image classification model on these frameworks using two popular networks. Additionally, developers will learn how to implement and deploy trained models on CPU/GPU and Intel® Movidius™ Neural Compute sticks, working through training to inference at the edge using Intel® IoT DevCloud.
Welcome & Introduction (10 mins)
AI on Intel® (30 mins)
Learn about Intel’s latest developments in artificial intelligence.
SESSION 1: Maximizing Deep Learning Training on Intel® Architecture
(2 hours, hands-on session)
In this session we showcase the techniques developers can use to get best performance when training Deep Learning models on Intel® architecture. Learn how Intel brings high performance, easy accessibility, and integrated workflow to Python* in numerical, scientific, and machine learning space. We will demystify Intel-optimized NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn, and learn about pyDAAL (Python APIs to Intel® Data Analytics Acceleration Library) with examples. Understand how Tensorflow* takes advantage of key performance features in Intel® Processors. We look at the benefits of both training on your existing Intel-based infrastructure and training on the latest generation of Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors:
1. Run Deep Learning workloads on a data center grade cluster of the latest Intel® hardware. Workshop using Udacity Self-Driving Car Dataset on Intel AI DevCloud
2. Develop and test your projects with Intel® optimized frameworks, tools, and libraries.
The results of this session – a trained model using Intel optimized TensorFlow* - will then be used in our second hands-on session.
Lunch - 1 hour
GUEST SPEAKER – Akhil Boddu, Intel AI Student Ambassador (45mins)
SESSION 2: Accelerate Deep Learning Applications with Intel® Vision Technologies
(2 hours, hands-on session)
Open the door to innovation with an Intel® IoT Gateway and market-leading IoT cloud services. Get a better out-of-the-box experience, leverage ease of use, and rapidly move from prototype to product. Explore using edge-based video analytics in the Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit and Intel® hardware to improve unmanned transportation stations, work sites, factories, automobiles, healthcare, and home security. Create innovative commercial solutions using Intel® IoT Gateway Technology and the Intel® IoT Gateway Software Suite. The combination of these Intel technologies enables companies to develop scalable solutions that aggregate data from the edge to the cloud.
1. Intel and AWS Deep Dive on market ready tools from the edge to the cloud.
2. Out-of-the-box developer solutions Intel® IoT Developer Kit and Microsoft Azure* IoT Cloud Services.
17:30: Casual Networking with Drinks & Snacks (1 hour)
Wrapping up an eventful day with an evening of drinks and wild discussions. Take this opportunity to networking with the other Intel Software Innovators and learn more from their AI and IoT stories.
